Hand made laps formed by stretching layers of degummed tussah (a type of wild silk) fibres. The fibres have been lightly bleached to help remove the gum. Like the caps and squares they are built up in layers and layers can be removed. These can then be stretched and twisted into different shapes or left to retain the wonderful natural lustre and form of the batts. They retain their shape and can be cut into shapes for 'paper' or felt decoration. The fibres are a soft cream colour.
